Professional Guidance in Voice & Acting
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Coaching the voice and acting through song was a natural progression from working professionally as an actor and singer. I take immense pride in having worked consistently after graduating and my interest in the voice (spoken and sung) has grown ever since.
I have a fierce love for all forms of theatre and music (as my students will tell you) and sharing that love with them is such a joy. Whether they are beginners or real experts, I thrive on seeing my students grow and develop, as well as having a chance to discover new aspects of their voices, then helping them achieve their potential. Like them, I am constantly learning... I don't think you ever stop!

WHATS MY FIRST LESSON LIKE?
We’ll talk a little about you, what your experience is (if any) and why you’re looking for lessons. We’ll go through some exercises which will help me to asses your voice and how I will be best approaching our sessions. The first lesson is just as much for me as it is for you. I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed. Your voice is a very personal thing, so it’s important you are happy and safe with me. This is the case for singing and spoken lessons.
SHOULD I PREPARE SOMETHING?
If you feel confident to do so, yes. Ideally it should be something you feel very comfortable with and have sung for a good amount of time. The purpose of this would be for me to get a clearer understanding of your voice, so if your unsure, just bring yourself and we will muddle through together. There is no pressure either way.
Spoken Sessions: an extract from a book or a poem are great. A Monologue will work too, as long as you know it well, but it is not necessary. I just want to hear your voice.
DO I NEED TO READ MUSIC?
No. Most people listen and learn via ear, so reading music is definitely not a necessity. But if your wanting to work professionally it’s becoming more of a necessity.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
Yes. Online lessons are reduced and I also offer an option to ‘Pay What You Can’ during the COVID - 19 pandemic.
